  1. Who is eligible to apply for a videoconference?
    Any member of the Academic community can apply for the service, as long as they have a valid academic e-mail address.
  2. Do all participants in a videoconference need to have an academic e-mail address?
    No, they do not. Only the person that applies for the videoconference needs to have an academic e-mail address.
  3. How many simultaneous users can participate in a videoconference?
    Up to 10 simultaneous users can participate in a videoconference. You have to declare the number of users in advance, at the time of your application, so that the appropriate videoconference room is assigned to you.
  4. How long in advance do I have to apply for the videoconference?
    You can apply for the videoconference at least 15 minutes before the desirable start time.
  5. Can I schedule 2 separate videoconferences that will run at the same time?
    No, it is not possible for a single user to schedule more than one videoconference that will run at the same time.
  6. Can I change the details (time, duration, etc.) of a videoconference that I have already applied for?
    Yes, it is possible to change all the details of a videoconference at least 10 minutes before the videoconference start time. Ii is also possible to permanently delete a videoconference application at least 10 minutes before it starts.
  7. Can I extend the duration of a videoconference that has already started?
    No, it is not possible to extend the duration of a videoconference that has already started. The videoconference will terminate at the predefined end time. If you wish to extend the duration of the videoconference, you will have to apply for a second videoconference that will start after the first videoconference ends. Keep in mind, that the two videoconferences will have different URLs.
  8. Which are the minimum technical requirements in order to participate in a videoconference regarding the network connection?
    You need to have a fast internet connection, LAN or ADSL at least 2Mbps.
  9. Which are the minimum technical requirements in order to participate in a videoconference regarding the audio-visual equipment?
    You need to have a webcam and a headset with microphone attached.
    Attention: It is strongly not recommended to use external speakers as they are going to cause severe audio problems to the videoconference.
  10. Do I have to install any software in order to participate in a videoconference?
    You only need to install Adobe Flash Player v10.1 plugin or newer on your system.

  11. Which are the requirements in order to share my screen to the other participants of the videoconference?
    You need to install Java Runtime Environment v6 or newer.
